Teaching Method

Our teaching method is adapted to the capacities, age and goals of every student. To all the students we provide the exercises to get the minimum levels of coordenative and physycal conditioning to have success on the surf training.
This conditioning is based on the tasks included in the wam up on the sand and on the water. For those who only search a pleasant activity and have fun we try to manage the effort to get the best of the session.
For those who strive to a higher level or even the competition level, our training also includes complementary physical and coordenative training, and uses other tools, as skates and vídeo recording  to error correction.

We organize our student/athlete training in 4 big levels:

  • First steps
  • Beginners
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced / Competition

Goals summary for each level are:

  • Develop the specific adaptations to the maritime environement.
  • Learn the safety rules and proceedings.
  • Learn the paddling technique and how to go outside with beginners surfboards.
  • Surfboard control.
  • Definition of Stance? Regular / Goofy.
  • Basic general and specific conditionning to surf

  • Take off
  • Turns on whitewater
  • Drop
  • Angled drop
  • Trimming both sides.
  • Wave reading and selection.
  • Finish the wave with control.
  • Going outside with shortboard / longboard.
  • Turns on the wave face.
  • Basic finishing manouvers.
  • Intermediate general and specific conditionning to surf.
  • Individualization of the training process.
  • Perfectioning of the Basic manouvers.
  • Learning and perfectioning of advanced manouvers.
  • Linking manouvers.
  • Starting from the current athlete level, we develop and optimize all the technique, tactics, physical and psychological capacities.
  • Colaboration with other specialist (ex. Nutricionist) to optimizae the athlete performance.
